Prayer Point 118 - May 15, 2023

This week, more than a million Christians continue praying for Jerusalem and Israel as part of a global prayer event. I think of the words of Apostle Paul in his letter to the Romans when he wrote that “all Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:26) as well as that a Deliverer will come out of Zion. This, of course, refers to Jesus when He returns a second time to Jerusalem to rule as King forever. Many of God’s purposes and promises are linked to the land of Israel and the Jewish people. Prayer Point 117 - May 8, 2023

Today through May 28th, many Christian prayer networks representing more than a million Christians will be praying for Jerusalem and the nation of Israel for an historic breakthrough of God’s purposes among the Jewish people. This prayer event is being described as a “global solemn assembly” as well as a “global Esther moment” and draws inspiration from Isaiah chapter 62 that describes God setting watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem. Over the last couple of years, while working on Prayer Point and other projects, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know the staff at WBNH. Jim, Keith, Daniel and Carla—as well as the many volunteers—are not only wonderful people and fellow Christians, but truly dedicated to the mission of bringing distinctly Christian radio to central Illinois. While concluding His prayer in John chapter 17, Jesus makes a remarkable statement. It’s almost as if He saved the most powerful idea for last. In verse 26, while speaking to His Father, He says: “I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” Did you catch that? Our Lord prays that the very same love He knew and felt would be in His disciples—followers like me and you. Imagine how different our life would be if we knew our Father’s love for us and others in the same way Jesus did. Friends, let’s make it our aim this week to ask for this love to fill our hearts and motivate all we do. Now that’s something to pray about!

Jesus Lifts Up Peter In Prayer

Prayer Point 114 - April 17, 2023

“Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail...” (Luke 22:31-32). Jesus knew that Peter was going to deny Him. But what He wanted Peter to know was that He had his back in prayer. How reassuring! The same God who knows you and I are going to fail Him at times—because we all do—also covers us His prayers. Friend, no matter how weak you may feel your faith is today, always know that Jesus is in Heaven praying for you. Consider taking a moment today to thank Him for not only saving you, but carrying you to the end with His fervent intercession. Now that’s something to pray about!
