The Father’s Love

While concluding His prayer in John chapter 17, Jesus makes a remarkable statement. It’s almost as if He saved the most powerful idea for last. In verse 26, while speaking to His Father, He says: “I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.” Did you catch that? Our Lord prays that the very same love He knew and felt would be in His disciples—followers like me and you. Imagine how different our life would be if we knew our Father’s love for us and others in the same way Jesus did. Friends, let’s make it our aim this week to ask for this love to fill our hearts and motivate all we do. Now that’s something to pray about!
