That They All May Be One

That They All May Be One

As we continue to look at Jesus’ prayer in John chapter 17, we must pause to reflect on His request of the Father for unity. In verse 21, John records Christ praying “that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.” Interestingly, Jesus links the unity of His followers with the world believing in Him. Friend, make it your prayer this week to ask for the same spirit of unity to be expressed in your home, local church and even throughout the world among Christians in every nation. As we become one, those who do not yet believe in Jesus begin to believe. Now that’s something to pray about!
